ENSO worked with Konditor & Cook to revitalise their brand and establish their business online.

The Tea Towel

Konditor & Cook is a baking institution, but with online ordering becoming a key battleground for their sector, our challenge was to turn Konditor & Cook into the “mobile-first” bakery.

We worked with the founders to clarify their brand, introducing an aesthetic that bought the public’s attention back to their fantastic cakes — after all, they are Sir Terence Conran’s favourite bakery.

Through the introduction of generative pattern, affectionately known as the “tea-towel”, we gave Konditor & Cook a brand identity that ensured our beautiful photography, packaging and marketing material were simply extensions of the core brand. Konditor & Cook was no longer a logo, but an aesthetic.

24/7 Baking

To grow Konditor & Cook’s business beyond London, we created a cutting edge online store with an online shopping experience that remained consistent across every digital device. Konditor & Cook’s customers could now personalise their cake orders on their smart phones and tablets, before having them delivered to their door in 24 hours or less.

During the first 6 months following the launch of their new retail experience, Konditor & Cook’s online sales increased over 500%, smashing all previous online sales records.

Following the massive success of Konditor & Cook’s online store, we were asked by Ebury Publishing to design their flagship cook book.

We squeezed everything that made Konditor & Cook the best bakery in the UK into 200 pages of mouthwatering recipes, ready to be enjoyed by fans the world over.
